Nicoli or Nick, is a lazy vampire guard who was a former member of the Paradiso clan. He originally served the central district of the Paradiso empire, which had the strongest influence of Italian culture. Their primary language was Italian, so when Nick speaks in English, he has an accent.

When he learns that Leeman is a former Paradiso like himself, he accepts Leeman’s bribe and lets him pass from the desert into the city without any ID or referral papers.

After that, he recognizes Leeman and lets both he and Adam pass as long as he gets a bribe.

He, like many Paradiso officers, was subjugated by humans after a raid on their district headquarters. If he’s resentful about it though, it doesn’t show. His casual personality gives him a constantly laid-back appearance.

As a Paradiso officer, he was a top advisor to the prince of his district, just like Leeman was an advisor to Jada.

Nick can evaluate people’s personalities quite accurately, and is a very good judge of character.
